KEN'S OLD WEST ANTIQUES

Welcome,
I started collecting coins when I was 7 years old, that started the bug. In 1968, I made my first prospecting trip into the Sierras to find gold and was introduced to a whole new way of looking at history. Everywhere I went there were signs of the past from the 49ers to the depression.

This sparked a new interest. The next year, I started to dig and collect bottles and interests spread to include the whole western movement, from the gold rush to prohibition. I am attracted to the glamour around the saloons, gamblers, gunfighters, and the men and women of the wild west.

I am looking for anything historic from CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CA and it's towns. Early photography, real photo postcards, paper, autographs, advertising, political items, merchant tokens (esp. saloon & billiard), stock certificates and early bottles. For your information, there is a listing of all the towns in Contra Costa on the tokens page to help you identify what towns are in the county.
